Glastonbury organisers have revealed plans to replace plastic pint glasses with reusable cups for 2015's festival.
The Guardian revealed how they will swap all plastic glasses and cutlery at next year's event for reusable items in order to decrease the amount of plastic waste left on Worthy Farm at the end of the festival.
This year will also see festival-goers encouraged to use stainless steel water bottles rather than plastic ones - an estimated one million of which are used during Glastonbury. 2,000 road crew and band members will be given the steel bottles for free, whilst thousands more will be on sale to festival-goers.
There will also be 400 water taps on site where bottles can be filled. Glastonbury green issues organiser Lucy Smith said: "We have amazing water quality in the UK but everyone is obsessed with drinking bottled water."
These steps are all part of Glastonbury's initiative to be the world's most environmentally friendly outdoor music event, with the Somerset festival hoping to emulate US festival Burning Man, which is a "leave no trace" event.
Glastonbury kicks off on Wednesday (June 25), with Arcade Fire, Kasabian and Metallica headlining.
