The butt of many jokes, it's only likely to get worse for poor old Nickelback - after two men in the US were allegedly detained in the US just for uttering their name. Check out a video of their police encounter below.
As The Washington Post reports, Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies stopped 23-year-old Eric Swinford and 22-year-old Riker Morrow after they thought they overheard the pair discussing marijuana.
The pair claim to have been referring to a nearby car blasting out Nickelback - but the officers thought they heard them say 'nickel sack', which we assume is derivative of 'nickel bag' - which is slang for a $5 bag of weed.
The police called this 'a bullshit story' and a pretty amusing conflict followed - with what sounds like a gun being puled at one point.

Coeur d’Alene Press then report that the Sheriff’s department spokesman said the incident is “being internally investigated".
They added: "We take this type of thing very seriously and we tell our people all the time to do their job as though someone is always watching, and they are always watching."
