Thumpers are one of the best new bands of 2014. This much is fact. Their debut album Galore is out now in America, and is released in the UK on 19 May 2014. The London duo also have excellent taste in cover versions - having recorded an excellent version of MIA's 'Bingo'. Watch their performance below.
Filmed for Transmitter TV, Thumpers' spiky, upbeat take on MIA's 2005 track showcases their attitude-packed blend of indie and electronica, as main-men Marcus Pepperell and John Hamson Jr. are joined by two female vocalists to a bring an extra dimension to the cover. Thumpers debut album is released at the start of festival season, and the band told us at the start of the year that the late release in the UK would make things all the more sweeter for British fans.
"A few friends have asked us 'what are you doing?' But there's no plan, basically," John told us. "Ideally, some kind of buzz will happen but there was no grand plan. The album will sound better in summer anyway."
