Watch the latest music video from Sunderland pop/rockers Lilliput, premiered today here on Gigwise. It is for their debut single, 'Waiting To Go', which was first released back in 2015.
The new video is decidedly more cinematic and abstract than the first, and sees the band taking lead acting roles in a séance gone wrong. Its quirky, low budget feel seems like a particularly chirpy take on a 70’s video nasty.
But this is all a fitting accompaniment to the poppy nostalgia of Lilliput’s musical inspirations. If you hadn’t listened to 'Waiting To Go” already, its jaunty piano keys, clambering guitar solos and bizarre lyricism in particular recalls the Hunky Dorian era of David Bowie, the clear inspiration for the title of the band’s debut album, Moonage Daydream.
Since the release of their debut LP in November last year, keys player Jordan Miller has left the band to be replaced by Carmen Green of Polarsets and The Railway Club. Lilliput have already made big waves across the North East of England, and they look set for even bigger things with their new line-up in 2017.
