Kasabian have issued a statement after the band was forced to cancel their gig at Custom House Square in Belfast last night (August 22) when singer Tom Meighan was taken to hospital.
Northern Irish fans were left disappointed when the band cancelled the show just minutes before they were due on stage. And judging the reaction of some of their fans, the band must be wondering where did the love go?
The statement says that the band were “absolutely gutted” about the last minute cancellation.
Writing on Facebook, Kasabian said: "Absolutely gutted to have to cancel last night's show in Belfast. We were all at Custom House Square, ready to go on stage when Tom suddenly went down with severe vomiting and could hardly stand up let alone sing. He was taken to hospital, put on a drip and told to rest up.
“We had no option but to cancel and we're sorry to our fans and anyone that travelled a long way. Thanks so much for all your messages of support. Details on the rescheduled date to follow soon xx"
Fans have been advised to hold on to their tickets until details of a re-scheduled show have been sorted out.
In a statement show organisers said: "We are working on scheduling a new date for Belfast. We will communicate with all ticket buyers via Ticketmaster and on the Custom House Square social media. Tickets remain valid for the new date. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
But some fans were left deeply disappointed and took to Twitter to vet their frustrations. Veely fumed: “Why wait until 20:50 to tell the fans... we've been stood in the rain for nearly 3 hours!
It is with great regret, due to illness, we cannot perform at Customs House Belfast tonight. Kasabian.

Elsewhere, Dan Barker, who’d flown in from the band’s hometown of Leicester said: “I've flown from Leicester to see you guys. I'm not coming back for rearranged date! Cancelling 10 mins before tote set!”
