Isaac Gracie unveils new video, announces Angus and Julia Stone support slot

The Ealing-raised bedroom troubadour is edging his way to superstardom

Earlier this month, Isaac Gracie brought out his most energetic track to date, 'The Death of You and I'. Now he has a video to accompany it that you can see on Gigwise below

The video sees Gracie's actions mirror the dynamics of the song: it starts out relatively slow with sweeping close ups of the grunge-y bedroom troubador and shots of his trusty Rickenbacker. Then when it hits fifth gear mania sets in and he starts exercising the number one rock 'n' roll cliche: smashing up a room.

But it's done in a crass way. It's spectacularly art directed and feels quite sensitively linked to the theme of lonely, troubled artist.

Gigwise's Steven Kline has this to say about the track:"It sounds like The Last Shadow Puppets, Richard Hawley and Paul Anka relaxing over mojitos in a continental cocktail lounge in 1956, Gracie drooling lines about “running into one another outside a café in Paris” like triple sec down his chin.

Then, about a minute in, Pixies charge into the place, kick over all the tables, string Gracie up by his testes over the optics and leave him there, wailing like Bono in Guantanemo. No amount of subsequent samba sections will restore the louche vibe, but neither will any amount of soaring acoustic epics make us forget that Gracie has surprises like this up his snot-encrusted sleeve. A slinksome star is born."

If Isaac Gracie is 'your bag' then you'l be pleased to hear he has an EP on the way via Virgin EmI called The Death Of You & I. This EP, out 29 September, follows a live EP and self-recorded one.

To coincide with this he has annoucned that his headline Omeara show has sold out and he's jumping from that tiny Mumford and Sons owned haunt (it's better there than it sounds) to BrixtonAcademy thanks to being asked on a tour with Australia's incredible Andgus and Julia Stone.
