Scouting For Girls have said that they think X-Factor "has had its day".
But frontman Roy Stride said they have in the past written songs for former X-Factor contestants One Direction and Alexandra Burke.
The singer also said he found his time as a guest judge on the Dutch version of the TV talent show difficult because he was "too nice".
In an article written for the Daily Star newspaper, Stride said of X-Factor: "There’s some good talent on the TV but it just doesn’t create real artists.
"You have to buy into an artist and get a sense of feeling what they feel, rather than see someone good-looking singing someone else’s songs," he continued.
"The BBC’s The Voice was more about the music," Stride added. "We’d love to be judges on that show. Pete would be the best as he’s brutally honest."
Writing of his time as an X-Factor judge in the Netherlands, Stride said: "One guy who auditioned was blind and, because he had a sob story, I went: “Yeah, that was great,” when he was absolutely awful."
Stride also said he had tried his hand at rapping on the band's new single 'Summertime In The City'.
"We’ve tried proper rapping and we’re all very, very bad at it," wrote Stride.
But while the frontman re-iterated his desire to work with Tinie Tempah after the rapper expressed his love for the band earlier this year, Stride has struggled to get Tempah on the phone.
"But we’d love to write with Tinie Tempah. We’ve got his number, but he never answers his phone," wrote Stride.
Scouting For Girls released their new album 'The Light Between Us' this week.
