Olly Murs has opened up about the rift between him and his twin brother Ben which has seen the siblings not talk for several years, and says he feels it could’ve been easily avoided.

Murs and his brother fell out back in 2009 when Olly decided to miss his brother’s wedding day to make sure he didn’t miss rehearsals for the semi-finals of X Factor.

Murs ultimately came second in the competition, but has gone on to have a successful career nonetheless.

He now says he feels he could’ve missed the day of rehearsals and it wouldn’t have affected his final standing on the show.

“I wouldn’t have been eliminated from the show by going to it [his brother’s wedding],” he admitted to The Sun this week. “But I would’ve missed a full day of rehearsals.

“It was the semi-finals, it was a shame but you have to move forward,” the ‘Troublemaker’ singer explains.

“We haven’t spoken in three or four years,” Olly reveals. “I hope he’s happy whatever he’s doing.

“It was just a falling out over the wedding day, I just really feel for my parents, that’s the real feud.”

Olly Murs is heading out on tour with Robbie Williams this summer

But Murs also said he’s pleased that the two aren’t identical twins as that would make the rift even harder to deal with.

“If we looked the same it could be the hardest thing in the world,” he admitted.

“I’m glad we don’t look alike for both our sakes.”
