Kelis' brand new album Food is out now, and it is totally brilliant. Listen to the album in full below.
Food is the star's sixth studio album, and her first for iconic record label Ninja Tune. The star has updated her sound once again, ditching the fiesty r&b of 'Milkshake' and the hi-energy pop of 'Acapella' for slinky, horn-driven soul sounds, as heard on singles 'Jerk Ribs' and recent release, 'Rumble'.
Despite having been a prolific artist for well over a decade, Kelis has always stayed on the outskirts of mainstream success, her most successful release being her 2003 record, Tasty. Considering the quality of her work and continual attempts to innovate and update her sound, it seems rather unjust. Food retains the high standard, and is a subtle, mature offering from the star - which will sound superb during the summer months.
