The Ibiza Rocks Group has decided to pull out of Magaluf in a bid to "focus on expansion plans both in Ibiza and globally" - meaning this summer will see the final Mallorca Rocks.
Announcing that 2014 will be the company's final year at the resort after five consecutive summer seasons of hosting popular gigs at the Mallorca Rocks Hotel, Founder & CEO of the Ibiza Rocks Group, Andy McKay said in an official statement:
“As the Ibiza Rocks Group expands with exciting new hotel and event projects in Ibiza and beyond, our strategic agenda has changed and the time is right for us to move on at the end of the summer season.
"We are really proud of what we have brought to the Mallorcan resort of Magaluf but we are pulling out of the resort in September.
“We will concentrate on building our Ibizan infrastructure and our global expansion plan and feel this is the right movement at the right moment for the Ibiza Rocks brand.”
The decision comes as more bad news for the Balearic Island's party capital, recently in the midst of controversy revolving around a young British female engaging in sexual activity with 24 men, and TV host Jeremy Kyle getting pepper sprayed by a bouncer worried that the presenter was only portraying Magaluf in a negative light while filming his new show.
