Lollapalooza have released a statement after Blood Orange's Dev Hynes took to Twitter to say that he and his girlfriend, Friends singer Samantha Urbani, were assaulted by security guards at the festival.

The singer tweeted following his set at the US festival: "Samantha and I just got assaulted by security. We are about to press charges." He continued, "They grabbed her I asked what they were doing and they grabbed my neck and threw me to the ground, then two others joined in on me."

The singer then continued his accusations in a series of tweets, and urged anyone who saw the incident to come forward.

Now Lollapalooza has shared a statement regarding the incident: "Late Friday night, we learned of an incident involving an artist and a security guard on site. Since then, we have been in contact with those involved and the authorities, as we work together to resolve the situation. As always, our top priority is to ensure the safety of everyone at the festival."

Since the alleged assault, many high-profile musicians have voiced their support for the musician, including Lorde, who tweeted Hynes saying, "Awful to hear about what happened yesterday. Hope you're ok. x"
