Lily Allen has responded to criticism of latest album Sheezus, saying: "Maybe the songs aren’t good enough this time, who knows?"
Previously blaming her manager for her third album's flop, the singer thinks that quality of music might have not been her best. She said in an interview with The Daily Mirror that "Maybe the songs aren't good enough this time, who knows? I just know I can't wait to get back into the studio."
The singer still hinted that other people may have been a factor for the poor sales and negative reviews of the album. She said: "I put my trust in other people, which I don't usually do. I usually go with my own gut feeling but maybe I wasn't feeling as confident as I have in the past because of all the hormones."
"The first thing I came back with was Hard Out Here and that was important to me, a real statement of intent," she said. "I thought it did really well and then management and the label chose to go with Air Balloon and I just think starting with something really aggressive and in your face and then going in a different direction... people need to know what they are getting."

Allen headlined Latitude Festival 2014 on Friday (18 July), as a last minute replacement for Two Door Cinema Club who pulled out due to singer Alex Tremble falling ill. Allen did pay tribute to the band by wearing their shirt and covering their hit single 'Something Good Can Work' despite the abuse she received on twitter.
