Sonic Highways will be the band's eighth album and is due to be released on Monday 10 November. The album was recorded in different cities across America (which is a focus point of the documentary) with Grohl claiming that the album is a "musical map of America". He adds in the trailer, "It's a chronicle of our journey to unwrap our musical identity. This is a love letter to the history of American music."
The album was recorded in Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington, DC. The (fairly short) tracklist for the album is below.
'Something From Nothing'
'The Feast and The Famine'
'Congregation'
'What Did I Do?/God As My Witness'
'Outside' 'In The Clear'
'Subterranean'
'I Am A River'
