In one of the most disastrous festival stories of the summer, ticket holders of the cancelled Alt-Fest are still waiting to receive their refunds.
Would-be festival-goers say that they've stopped receiveing replies from the company 'Clubtickets' who are largely responsible for issuing the money.
"In line with our cancellation policy detailed here we will be making full refunds to all ticket purchasers," read a statement written by the ticketing company on 1 August. "A full refund covers everything related to this event including the various add-ons and booking fees.... we will get in touch with all ticket holders soon to confirm what day to expect cleared funds."
The festival, which was funded through a Kickstarter Campaign, was scheduled for 15 -17 August in Kettering, Northamptonshire, and was to host acts including Marilyn Manson, The Cult, Gary Numan and Paradise Lost. However, the organisers officially announced the cancellation of the festival on 1 August, just two weeks before festival was due to commence.
It was announced by all involved upon the cancellation that full refunds would be offered to the disappointed fans. However, since 4 August no word has come from Clubtickets who were the principle agency used by purchasers of Alt-Fest tickets, in fact their website has been removed, reports Virtual Festivals.
Fans who purchased their tickets through other websites eg, Amazon and Festicket, have been issued with a full refund and some fans have had success receiving refunds via their banks.
After a long and stressful cancellation process which left both fans and bands fuming, the Alt-Fest story is coming to a slow and messy end.
