Joel Mac, an MC who was selling his CDs on the street has brought a copyright infringement lawsuit to Jay-Z and Kanye West for stealing his song. Listen below.

According to TMZ, the artist, named Joel McDonald, was selling CDs on the street outside the Mercer Hotel while Jay-Z and Kanye were staying there to record the Watch The Throne album. His claim is that he sold a copy of the CD to Mike Dean, a producer on the album who then used the track as the basis of 'Made In America'.

Both tracks are called 'Made in America' and open with a reference to Martin Luther King but appear to have little in common musically. The song by Joel McDonald, who performs as Joel Mac, is laregly led by acoustic guitar whereas Kanye and Jay-Z's track has all the high-end production and lilting synths that you would expect.

Listen: Joel Mac versus Kanye & Jay-Z, Made in America, but who made it first?
