Bestival have officially achieved something historic, creating the world's biggest disco ball according to the Guinness Book Of Records.
The festival that took place this weekend on the Isle of Wight featured a ball that was over 10m in diameter, beating the previous record by 20cm.
The festival tweeted to mark the event:
It's official!!! We now hold the Guinness World Record for the biggest Disco Ball in the world!!! #bestival14

Headliner Nile Rodgers from Chic challenged festival organizer Rob Da Bank to make the event happen. “I said that I would like to create the world’s largest disco party of all time" says Rodgers.

The mirrorball was a centrepoint of the festival this year, and was hoisted into the air and spun to mark Nile Rodgers and Chic closing Bestival last night (Sunday 7 September). Check back at Gigwise for more news, reviews, photos and more from Bestival 2014.
