Despite not being a member of Pink Floyd for the past 29 years, Roger Waters is continually being asked about a reunion - and he's not very happy about it.
In a statement posted to his Facebook, Waters wrote:
"Some people have been asking Laurie, my wife, about a new album I have coming out in November. Errhh? I don’t have an album coming out, they are probably confused. David Gilmour and Nick Mason have an album coming out. It’s called Endless River. David and Nick constitute the group Pink Floyd. I on the other hand, am not part of Pink Floyd. I left Pink Floyd in 1985, that’s 29 years ago.
"I had nothing to do with either of the Pink Floyd studio albums, Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell, nor the Pink Floyd tours of 1987 and 1994, and I have nothing to do with Endless River. Phew! This is not rocket science people, get a grip."
Now that's cleared up, Dave Gilmour has also revealed minor details about the forthcoming new album from Pink Floyd, describing the record as "very evocative and emotional in a lot of moments."
Speaking in the latest issue of Uncut magazine, the singer/guitarist revealed that The Endless River, the group's first album in 20 years will also be a tribute to multi-instrumentalist Rick Wright, who died in 2008.
Gilmour explained that the material for this release came from The Division Bell sessions in 1994, which Wright helped work on: "Now with Rick gone and with him the chance of ever doing it again, it feels right these revisited tracks tracks should be made available as part of our repertoire."
He continued to detail how this album then became a tribute to Wright, and the newfound vulnerability he noticed in the material from that era: "I mean, to me, it's very evocative and emotional in a lot of moments. And listening to all the stuff made me regret his passing all over again. This is the last chance someone will get to hear him playing along with us on that way he did."

In a previous statement about The Endless River, Gilmour said "we listened to over 30 hours of the three of us playing together and selected the music we wanted to work for the new album...over the last year we've added new parts, re-recorded others and generally harnessed studio technology to make a 21st century Pink Floyd album".
The Endless River is released on 10 November.
