'Congregation' was recorded in Nashville, at Southern Ground studio. Previously released tracks 'Something From Nothing' and 'The Feast and the Famine' were recorded in Chicago and Washington DC, respectively.

The Foo's eighth studio album is running alongside an eight-part HBO series of the same name, with each episode documenting the recording of every track, each recorded in a different American city.
The album features a number of guest contributors, including Zac Brown of the Zac Brown Band, Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen, Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard and The Eagles’ Joe Walsh. It is released on Dave Grohl's Roswell Records on 10 November.
