Radiohead's Philip Selway has given an update on the band's new album, saying it is "coming along nicely".
Speaking to Drowned In Sound, Selway explained how progress was developing on the band's ninth studio album, which is hopefully set for release at some point later this year.
"We worked throughout the autumn up to just before Christmas,” he detailed, “and now we’re just taking some time away for other projects.”
Selway then went onto explain that the band will be heading back into the studio in March to continue work on the record: “We’ll make an assessment of where we are then, but we’ve been excited about what we’ve been doing so far. It’s by no means finished yet, so we’ve got a way to go. It’s been a productive time though.”
Although the record is expected in the near future, the drummer refused to give a set timeline on the album's release schedule, stating “I wouldn’t want to start to predict that kind of thing in a Radiohead schedule because you can find yourself six months down the line saying ‘I wish I hadn’t have said that actually!'”
This forthcoming record will be Radiohead's first release since 2011, following on from The King of Limbs.
Selway's second solo album Weatherhouse is out now on Bella Union.
