It's been over a decade of waiting, but The Libertines have revealed that they are planning a new album together, which they hope to release in 2015.
The band recently played a much-hyped reunion show at London's Hyde Park, which, despite being slightly overshadowed by chaotic crowd scenes, went down well with fans.

Speaking to NME about the band's plans going forward, Carl Barat admitted that fresh material has "always" been on the cards.
When pressed for a date to expect the new material, Barat said: "Next year, it has to be. I don't wanna just go on the road because then you'll get cabin fever and have an epic fallout. So yeah, I want to keep something fresh coming in. We just need to find the time."
Pete Doherty also suggested to NME that the band will go to Germany for writing sessions, similar to the process around their 2004 self-titled album, when they decamped to Paris. "For some reason in my head, I'm thinking October, November time", he said. "That's what will have to happen. Basically, it'll have to be like Paris, but in Hamburg and for a bit longer. I'm well up for it."
The Libertines recently announced a few more live dates, including three nights at London's Alexandra Palace in September. For more information, visit Gigwise tickets.
