Damon Albarn has announced a headline date at The Royal Albert Hall in London. Full dates and ticket details are below.
The Blur frontman turned solo star set to play the iconic venue for the first time in a solo capacity in November. In the wake of his debut solo album Everyday Robots, released earlier this year on XL Recordings, Albarn’s live show has garnered critical praise recently with appearances at a host of festivals, including a headline slot at Latitude that saw him bring out fellow Blur member Graham Coxon for an emotional rendition of 'Tender’.
This morning also saw the frontman release another solo track, written specifically for the upcoming ‘Lucy’ soundtrack, a new film starring Scarlett Johansson. Dark and foreboding, Albarn’s latest solo track polarises his typically low-key vocals with swooping strings to create something overwhelmingly atmospheric that still possesses an approachable charm.
Listen to the track below.
Tickets for Damon Albarn’s show at The Royal Albert Hall go on sale at 9am on Friday 1 August. For more information visit Gigwise Tickets.
