Odd Future's Earl Sweatshirt has accused Taylor Swift of racism, thanks to her video for new song 'Shake It Off'. Check it out below.
The video itself features Swift in various different cultural guises, from a ballet dancer, to a breakdancer and a dancing in front of twerking women in hoop earings and short shorts.
While it's only a short portion of the video, the switching between different cultures in different sections of the video is actually the very definition of appropriation. Also, watch out for the bit where she crawls through a load of twerking arses with a look of marvel upon her chops.

Earl Sweatshirt chose to take offense however, without even watching the video. While he's not wrong, the problem doesn't lie with Swift but the culture at large.
haven't watched the taylor swift video and I don't need to watch it to tell you that it's inherently offensive and ultimately harmful

perpetuating black stereotypes to the same demographic of white girls who hide their prejudice by proclaiming their love of the culture

for instance, those of you who are afraid of black people but love that in 2014 it's ok for you to be trill or twerk or say nigga

'Shake It Off' is available as a single on iTunes now, and is taken from her new album 1989 - due for release on 27 October.
