Camden Roundhouse is packed with lots of competition winners, stocking up on their Vitamin Water (the main sponsor of the event) in the wait for Jessie J’s appearance.
To get the crowd in the mood for her stage presence, indie band, The Special K’s completed their set. It was quite surprising really that they were Jessie’s support act – considering their music isn’t exactly in the same genre, but none the less, they came, they played, they conquered.
Joined by a full band and two backing singers, Jessie J bounced on stage in a shimmering gold sequined number with casual white trainers and neon orange laces. Only a girl with her stature and attitude could get away with an outfit like that.
She started off her set with a familiar song and her first ever single 'Do It Like A Dude' – which she later explained to the audience was written along with her first album, about every years ago. Everyone chimed along loving every minute of every verse.
She swiftly moved through her album selection, including other hits, 'Nobody’s Perfect' and collaboration song with B.O.B. 'Price Tag'. It was great to see her not only enjoying every moment of her set, but also, having fun with her band onstage. She’d have a little dance or joke with them, so everyone appeared to be having a great time, which really added to the atmosphere.
As a little surprise, she even covered Usher’s 'Climax' and undoubtedly, without fail, managed to exceed every high note. Jessie really is a diva singer - one who can be applauded because her vocal range and notes are flawless.
Overall, Jessie J’s performance is stunning and if you haven’t seen her already – make sure you book tickets to her next tour.
