‘#HappyHippiePresents: Backyard Sessions’ is a series of special musical collaborations which will raise funds to create digital support groups for LGBT youth and their families.
The Happy Hippie Foundation was started by Cyrus to “fight the injustices faced by homeless youth, LGBT youth and other vulnerable populations”.
To kick off the video series, Cyrus teamed up with Joan Jett to perform ‘Different’, a track from Joan Jett and the Blackhearts’ 2013 album Unvarnished. The pair also recently collaborated for a performance at the 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
