DJ Yoda has released the surreal new video for his single '2468' which is the latest track to be taken from his recent album Breakfast Of Champions. Check it out below.
The video explores the influences of the catchy new number, with clips from computer games reflecting the gaming sound bytes in the background, as well as edited footage of Oh Brother Where Art Thou, home videos and cartoons that echo the lyrics and 'country hip-hop' feel. Put it all together and you've got a trippy video to match the stunning cut'n'paste.
Watch the video for DJ Yoda's '2468' below:
Yoda himself admitted of last single 'Pebble Beach' that it was “the nuttiest track I think I’ve ever worked on” but with '2468''s synthesis of country twang, grime and hip-hop, and now this video, it certainly comes close. At one point a group of shirtless men seem to be dancing gangham style in a kitchen to the beat of the song, there's a bluegrass hoedown, and there's even a man dancing with a raccoon. Surprisingly, just like the music it accompanies, it works.
The track is to be released on 8 June, in-keeping with its summery vibes, ahead of DJ Yoda's appearances at Camp Bestival and Standon calling, following a full UK tour with a headline slot at London's Forum.
