Janelle Monae performed a brilliant cover of David Bowie's 'Heroes' on David Leterman last night (11 June). Watch it below.
The cover is part of Pepsi's new Beats the Beautiful Game album,, which comprises original and cover songs from Kelly Rowland, Santigold, Rita Ora and more.
Speaking of the song choice to Huffington Post, Monae said: "As we were going through songs, his name came up, of course - I love him. I think he has some exceptional work and he has inspired not just me, but many people with this song.
"I thought it would be the perfect song. I really do love the fact that it tied into a big project that has a lot of really eclectic artists on it. "

Monae released her debut album, The ArchAndroid, in 2010, and rose to universal prominence a year later after featuring in fun.'s massive hit 'We Are Young'.
Monae's second studio album, The Electric Lady, was released last year to critical acclaim.
