The first four minutes of the upcoming Elliott Smith documentary Heaven Adores You have gone online. Watch them below.
The documentary, which was directed by Nickolas Rossi, is currently being show at US film festivals, but has not yet been released to the public.
The film, funded by a Kickstarter campaign that began in 2011, features interviews with Smith's close friends, as well as archive footage.
The first four minutes feature an archival interview with Smith, who died of an apparent suicide in 2003 aged 34. Smith discusses his reluctance with the idea of being famous: "I'm not trying to avoid anything, I just thought I'd have to be more... I'm the wrong kind of person to be really big and famous."
