Arcade Fire covered Jane's Addiction and Guns N' Roses at an LA gig on Friday (1 August), where they also grabbed about ten mobile phones from fans who were filming in the front row.
The band continued their run of covers at the Forum gig, performing Jane's Addiction's 'Been Caught Stealing'. It seems they took the lyrics a little too much to heart, as lead singer Win Butler began taking the phones out of fans' hands.
As the fans willingly relinquished their mobiles, with some even offering them to Butler to collect, he then walked back to the microphone stand, placed the pile on the floor and continued singing.

After performing 'Been Caught Stealing', the band then played an excerpt of Guns N' Roses' 'Welcome To The Jungle' before transitioning to their own song, 'Here Comes The Night Time'.
As to whether or not the fans got their phones back... who knows? (Probably.)
