In what will surely be one of the event's more bizarre releases, Stephen Hawking has covered Monty Python's 'Galaxy Song' for Record Store Day. Listen to it below.
The track originally featured in the 1983 film The Meaning Of Life, and was written by Eric Idle and John Du Prez.
The video sees the theoretical physicist narrating the song's lyrics in his iconic synthesised voice while travelling through galaxies. Fellow scientist Brian Cox also features in a slap-stick heavy role, as do the surviving Pythons. This isn't the first time Hawkings voice has been heard on record - he recently appeared on Pink Floyd's The Endless River.

The cover will be released as a limited edition 7" single on Record Store Day, which takes place this year on 18 April. Among the hundreds of limited edition vinyl records and more due for release throughout independent record stores around the world on April 18 are the likes of David Bowie, Foo Fighters, Bob Dylan and many more.
There are simply too many brilliant buys to be had, but our personal picks include David Bowie's picture disc of 'Changes', Foo Fighters exclusive 10” of unheard tracks and demoes on Songs from the Laundry Room, Johnny Marr covering Depeche Mode's 'I Feel You', Manic Street Preachers' unleashing their seminal 1994 LP The Holy Bible on vinyl and Chvrches combining their recent one-off single 'Get Away' and 'Dead Air'.
