Are Blur making up for lost time? With a 16 year gap between 2003's Think Tank and newly released The Magic Whip, Alex James claims the rejuvenated group have another albums worth of material already.
In an interview with NME, James claimed the band recorded "26 or 27 songs" during their sessions in Hong Kong for The Magic Whip, and with there being 12 tracks on the album, that leaves 14 or 15 still unreleased.
Although, the bassist went on to cast doubt over whether the tracks will see the light of day, "Whether any other stuff from the Hong Kong sessions will ever emerge, who knows? But coming up with new music has never been Blur's problem."
Either way, this is good news for Blur fans, as they are seemingly in the mood for creating and moving forward rather than reminiscing about their 90s past, like they did for their first series of comeback shows.
The Magic Whip is out now, check out Gigwise's review here.
