Hayley Williams of Paramore has risked the wrath of the One Direction fandom by accusing the band of plagarism.
The vocalist claimed on Twitter that "Steal My Girl" clearly ripped off of New Found Glory's 2006 single "It's Not Your Fault."
Beginning of that new 1D song couldn't sound any more like the beginning of @newfoundglory's "its not your fault" but pic.twitter.com/UFlFjImxrK

I realize that I'm gonna get hate from a very large fanbase for that. But really, it has more to do w/ whoever pitched or cowrote the song.

As Spin reports, Williams' boyfriend is New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert, who pointed out the similarity initially, before retreating in the face of a torrent of Twitter abuse.
Props to the @onedirection "steal my girl" single for reworking the "it's not your fault" piano part into a top 40 single. Let me get a cut

Guys I'm just sad cause "you don't know you're beautiful" meant so much to me. I just don't want them to grow up. so I'm sorry.

Wow did not realize this was gonna be a story. It's not a story. My original tweet was a joke anyway. Music influences music. No one cares

.@onedirection Your fans spew the most racist/homophobic/sexist hate I have ever seen on the Internet... You have a platform to change that.

The two tracks certainly share a few similarities. Judge for yourself below:
