The best British albums of the last 12 months
Despite not being properly announced until next month, this week saw bookies start offering odds on who would be nominated for this year's Mercury Prize.
The prestigious award, with a purpose to highlight the most groundbreaking, innovative albums by British artists each year has skyrocketed the careers of countless acts, including Alt-J, Arctic Monkeys and The xx, with James Blake taking home the prize last year for his stunning second album Overgrown.
With 2014 far sitting as an unbelievably strong year for albums from both new and established artists, this year's list will no doubt feature some fierce competition from across the musical spectrum.
Considering we have to wait more than a month to hear the full list of nominees, here's 15 albums we think deserve to be nominated for this year's Mercury Prize.
