Loving tributes have been paid in the wake of the tragic news that Camera Obscura's Carey Lander has sadly passed away.
The Scottish indie-pop heroes revealed that the keyboardist lost her battle with cancer this morning (Sunday 11 October) - but that they would continue the fundraising appeal that she started, in her memory.
"It is with the greatest sadness, that we must share the news that Carey passed away peacefully this morning after her illness with cancer," wrote the band. "We have lost our friend and band mate, and our deepest sympathy goes out to her partner Kenny, and to all her family and friends.
"She was touched by the way you all got behind her campaign for Sarcoma UK and you can still donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/Carey-Lander
"We shall be continuing to help promote the campaign on her behalf.
"She was left in no doubt how much you all loved and appreciated her, and we'd like to thank you all for the support and kind words you have been sending to us and her. The band, our music, and all of you who have enjoyed it over the years, meant so much to her.
"Thank you all, Tracyanne, Gavin, Kenny and Lee x"
Since the sad news, friends and fans including Frightened Rabbit and Lauren Laverne have paid tribute:
We're going to miss this beautiful, talented lady. What a tragedy to lose her at this young age, but what an amazing thing to have known her and to have been digging her music all these years. RIP Carey. x

Carey's fundraising appeal is still open. Stop this from happening to others. Every penny matters. https://t.co/XfmZDPcOmF
