According to a French magazine Tsugi, half of Daft Punk may release new music as a solo artist.

As with everything to do with everyone's favourite Gallic robots, every news story needs to be viewed with a healthy degree of scepticism. However as Spin reports, just in case Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christro is putting aside his robot helmet to work on another project.

According to Tsugai "One half of Daft Punk, Guy-Manuel Homem-Christo, is currently register[ing] a solo album in the near western suburbs of Paris. Of course, no release date has yet been scheduled, but what is already known is that it will be full of guests on this album vocal solo, including the presence of Charlotte Gainsbourg."

Homem-Christo has produced other acts before (including Sebastian Tellier) but frankly we'll only believe it when we see it on Beatport.

Despite persistent rumours that they will be secret headliners at festivals, the last confirmed sighting of Daft Punk was when they performed "Get Lucky" with Stevie Wonder and Pharrell at January's Grammy Awards.
